Short Version: Unzip the *.7z file. It contains all the source code, as well as resources and executables for Linux & Windows.
The application's root directory [./avent/] contains files for deployment on 3 platforms: 1)windows (32+64bit), 2)linux, in addition to source code. If you are NOT running windows, you do not need .dll files.
Windows users see "windows-setup.txt".
Unzip the archive. On Windows, 7z [www.7-zip.org] works well for this.
Open a commandline terminal, and cd to the install directory. If your platform is High-Dpi-capable, type the executable-name followed by a "1", before hittting the (enter-key). But if the game does not play smoothly, you should run in Low-Dpi mode.
Linux users should type "adaventure_gnu" to start the game. You may also double click its icon in file manager. Note that my new sound technique [Linux-only] sometimes aborts with a tasking error. So, save often, until I perfect my algorithm. If you are an Ada Tasking expert and have advice, please contact me : fastrgv@gmail.com
This linux executable was built on Linux Mint, and tested on RedHat (Scientific-Linux) to not only run well, but to rebuild easily. I believe this single linux executable will run on most distributions of linux.
Windows users type either a) binw32\adaventure32.exe or b) binw64\adaventure64.exe
Save the game [ v-key ] prior to risky behavior or quitting, in order to resume later.
The install_directory should contain a subdirectory named "data". It contains shaders, skyboxes, sound and texture data.
Note that adjustable OpenGL settings should favor performance. OTOH, this game runs fine on an Intel NUC with embedded Intel graphics, so the graphics demands are modest.
