ssthreads provides a more robust threading
environment than linuxthreads. It supports priority
inheritance, full n-way deadlock detection, and the
ability to perform thread operations in a signal
handler. It was designed to do this while requiring
no system calls in the normal (no contention)
mutex lock and unlock.
