Univalent Tools is a text-based maintenance tool that comes with Univalent GNU/Linux. You can change the screen size, configure the network environment, configure the sound card, manage the package, change the time zone, and more.

It was originally part of the i3-wm flavour of Alter Linux, with some optimisations and additions for Univalent.

Installation

It is included in the Univalent from the beginning, so there is no need to introduce it. If you delete it, reinstall the univalent-tools package.

Features

  • Display Settings - change screen size, etc. (dependd on ARandR)
  • Network settings 0 such as editing network connections and changing a system's host name (depends on NetworkManager)
  • Sound - volume changes, disclosure of system information related to sound, etc. (depends on ALSA Utils)
  • Package Management - software installation, removal, retrieval, etc. (depends on Pacman)
  • Date and Time - Change time zone, write to hardware clock, NTP sync, etc. (depends on NTP, etc.)
  • System Information - Displays system version, kernel messages, etc. (depends on UniFetch, etc.)

F.A.Q.

I don't want to print any system messages (such as kernel message) to the log file.

Sorry, we haven't implemented this feature yet… Please wait while we implement it in a future release.
