sonic-snap is a Webcam application specifically
suited for the sn9c102 kernel driver.
Distinguishing features include histogram
analysis, normalization, and MPEG output.

QuikKopy is a command-line utility which copies
images from a source directory to a destination
directory, creating a structured library of
digital images. It can also perform batch resizing
and manipulation of images using ImageMagick. It
is designed for use with large collections of raw
images, such as those downloaded from a digital
camera.

Twibright Registrator removes noise and can quadruple the resolution of a camera in software by matching several pictures together. It can be applied to remove noise, JPEG artifacts, rain, CRT stripes, and passersby. It can enhance night photos and provide the effect of long exposure in daylight. Pictures are matched by removing shift, rotation, zoom, and brightness changes. It features high performance bilinear interpolation, automatic adaptive corrective deconvolution, 32-bit float depth, photometrically linear space, and 16-bit depth PNG output.

flscan (Fast Light Scan) is a new frontend for the
SANE libraries and dlls. It can rotate images by
90° both clockwise and counter clockwise, flip
images both vertically and horizontally, correct
the horizontal aspect of the image, save aquired
images in JPEG or in PNG format, let you view
images even at full size after they've been
acquired, and potentially supports all the SANE
backends.

Camera downloads files from your digital camera.
It is based on GNUstep.

Photo Locker is a digital photo album that features hotspots,
a presentation mode, and space for comments with every photo.

Rubum is the RUby alBUM software. It generates static HTML galleries from a set of JPEG files. It is also delivered with an RDFPic-compliant photo editor that enables you to add metadata inside your JPEG files in RDF format (using the dublin core namespace).

getKC600 is a tool for getting pictures from a
Yashica (Kyocera) KC600 digital camera connected
to a serial port.

jBrout is a photo manager. It can manage albums
and photos, tag photos with IPTC keywords, use
internal JPEG thumbnails, add comments to photos
and albums, losslessly rotate JPEG files and
internal JPEG thumbnails, and use EXIF info. It
uses plugins to add a variety of features such as
exporting to HTML, acting like an HTTP server, and
exporting to email. It works without a database,
and has been tested with a collection of over
20,000 photos.

gblnk lets you use a MadCatz cable to download bitmaps from the Gameboy camera onto your PC and view them/save them in bitmap format.

mjpeg-jpegs is a tool for coverting Motion-JPEG files
such as the short movies produced by digital cameras
to JPEG files and back. Both AVI and QuickTime
formats are supported, including audio tracks.

zire-photo is a simple gpilotd plugin conduit for synchronizing images captured by the builtin camera on Palm's new Zire 71. Images and thumbnails are placed in a user-specified directory.

multican is a Canon EOS class camera remote
control utility. It is able to remote control
400D, 300D, 350D, 30D, 20D, and 5D cameras and can
be scripted to control up to six attached cameras.

POWA intends to be an all-in-one program to
operate a Webcam either on a Website or for
personal uses. It is in development but supports
live video, snapshot taking (with a timer or with
a button), and more.

Macam is a user space USB Webcam driver, supporting
Aiptek, 3com, Phillips, Creative, Dexxa, DigitalDream,
Dolphin Peripherals, IDT, Intel, Kensington, Lifeview,
Logitech, and many other Webcams.
