ntpdate is a simple and small replacement for the
homonymous and obsolete tool from the NTP
Project's (www.ntp.org) reference implementation.
ntpdate sets the local date and time by polling
the Network Time Protocol (NTP) server(s) given as
the server argument to determine the correct time.
It must be run as root on the local host. It is
not meant for real time synchronization.

regionset allows you to check and set the region
code of DVD drives. This program was part of the
package "dvd_disc_20000215.tar.gz" from
Convergence, which is no longer distributed
because of the new German copyright law. (The
package also contained some CSS and copying
related tools.) regionset was separated and all
CSS related stuff was removed. This program is
needed by everyone with a new DVD drive that
doesn't have a region code set, since the drive
will only play Video DVDs when the region code has
been set once.

finetd is an inetd-like Internet "superserver". It
can listen for connections on any number of
TCP/UDP ports or Unix path names, as defined by a
configuration file. When a connection is made to
one of these ports, finetd launches an application
to handle the request. finetd supports IPv4, IPv6,
and UNIX domain sockets. Stream, datagram (dgram),
and seqpacket socket types are supported.
Regwatch is a regex-based logfile watcher. It watches a
logfile, and commits actions or alerts based on lines
appearing in the logfile match regular expressions. It can
also use regex-based transforms to make these matched
log lines a little easier to read before feeding them to the
action. The alerts are the same as mon's, allowing them to
be used interchangeably.

Unix Mobile Agents is a generic, flexible, easy to use mobile
agent architecture implemented in a set of bash scripts. This
design is made to be trivial to deploy and setup. Agents can
be configured to traverse the network in sorted
order, in user defined order, or as a random walk. They can
also run in a repeated loop, or in a single pass through the
network. Connections are made via public-key SSH
authentication, and the screen utility is used to allow agents
to run without requiring terminals.
