Characters on terminal window become garbage, logged data becomes garbage

Hi, I am acquiring data at a baud rate of 115200. I am acquiring through three separate serial to usb connections into one laptop. Three separate terminal windows are used for each port. Sometimes, the data seen in one terminal window will become completely unreadable and won't be stored in columns anymore. The logged data will appear identical as well. Over time, the data will eventually appear normal again and in distinct columns. Similarly, the logged data will be look identical and normal like the terminal window.
