GTK, which stands for the Gimp ToolKit, is a library for creating graphical user interfaces. It is designed to be small and efficient, but still flexible enough to allow the programmer freedom in the interfaces created. GTK provides some unique features over standard widget libraries.

GtkColorSelectionDialog was deprecated in favor of a new color chooser widget GtkColorChooserDialog. GtkApplication session support was simplified. XInput2 is now required for building the X11 backend, and support for XInput1 was removed. API deprecations are now versioned, and new APIs are now marked with the version they were introduced with. Fixes were made for theming. Many other minor bugs were fixed. Translations were updated.
