A major improvement to the scalability has been achieved with an a change to megaupload's internals. The Perl script has been changed to process the incoming post data instead of merely passing it on to the PHP script. The PHP script now receives a list of uploaded files instead of the files themselves.
Os cookies que foram removidos na versão 1.00 ter sido reintroduzido com as melhorias. Os dados de cookie pode agora ser passados entre os scripts Perl e os scripts PHP. Isto está disponível como um recurso opcional para eliminar os problemas de instalação que foram relatados com a versão 0.90.
