Did you get rid of the Japanese localization file in the site-start
directory. You can get to this directory from the Emacs menu:
Help -> Carbon Emacs Package -> Open Site-Start Directory
and simply delete the file with 'japanese' in the filename. [I forget
the precise name, since I got rid of mine.] Then restart Emacs.
