UTF-8 vs. shift-jis (2006-04-19 06:02 by benjaminbellamy #21354)

Hi,

I would like to change the encoding from shift-jis to UTF8. (in order to be able to keep japanese characters and avoid compatibility issues)

Does everyone agree with this ?

Regards,
Benjamin.

I agree. Actually I test using your getByteArray for Chinese GB2312 encoding and it works.

I agree too.

I think Shift_JIS has some nasty problem, and UTF8 is ideal encoding for international project like this.

Funny to read this after removing all japanese comments in my local version...

Thank you very much for your work. I really appreciate and enjoy your great application.

I was really amazed and excited when I tried the J2ME version on dr.hu's homepage. Incredible how far it developed already....

Greetings,
worufu
