As the word says it's an "outlet". Creating a getter as well would mean that if I would have like a gazilion outlets in some controller class that all the other classes that have a reference to the controller class would also be able to access all the outlets of the controller class. Whereas I would maybe like them to only be able to access one specific outlet... As far as I know, that ain't right.
