サーバーOSの入替でApacheのみ1.3→2.2に変更して、スクリプトとDBをできるだけ維持しながら環境の再構築するのに重宝しました。
Pros
WAMP本体のインストール後に古いバージョンのPHPとMysqlをインストールし、バージョンの選択ができる点は便利です。 アンインストールの手順が分かりませんが、、、
Cons
苦労して構築したシステムが簡単に再現できてしまい、スキルが下がったと思いました。

LAMPならぬWAMPを、理解するためではなく「単に環境として利用したい人」には楽で良いかと。 AとMとPのそれぞれの設定をリンクさせてあるセットというだけでもだいぶ楽です。
