ご指摘通り、過去ログは

を参考にさせて頂き、型番の表示状態で、ソートすることが出来ていました。

本家フォーラムにある変更は、ログに沿って
$select_column_list = ''; を $select_column_list = 'p.products_model, ';
に変更してみたのですが、

のエラーがてでしまった次第です。
説明が足りず、誠に失礼致しました。

非表示での型番ソートは、曽我部さまのご教示くださった変更で解決致しました。
また、advanced_search_result.phpにつきましても
