Thank you for the answer and the patch. It doesn't seem to have much effect, i.e. when using uim-xim there is no difference, i.e. no characters are input to emacs. When using uim.el, there is a difference now: characters are still not input, however in place of every character "charset=UTF-8" gets input to emacs... Best regards, ShiroiKuma
