Projeto Descrição

Dnsmasq is a lightweight, easy to configure DNS forwarder and DHCP server. It is designed to provide DNS and (optionally) DHCP to a small network. It can serve the names of local machines which are not in the global DNS. The DHCP server integrates with the DNS server and allows machines with DHCP-allocated addresses to appear in the DNS with names configured either in each host or in a central configuration file. Dnsmasq supports static and dynamic DHCP leases and BOOTP/TFTP for network booting of diskless machines.

The usual mix of bugfixes and feature enhancements. There are fixes for a couple of nasty TFTP bugs, so TFTP users should upgrade. Notable amongst the enhancements is support for Linux conntrack. Dnsmasq can now copy conntrack marks from incoming DNS queries to the upstream connections used to answer them. This feature could be useful for bandwidth accounting, captive portals, and the like. A similar feature has been implemented in Squid 2.2. There are also fixes for large (thousands of leases) DHCP systems and DHCP via relay.
