みなさま バイオサイエンスデータベースセンター (NBDC), ライフサイエンス統合 データベースセンター(DBCLS) では毎年 BioHackathon という国際会議を 開催してきております。 主催者側のミッションであるデータベース統合のための技術開発を目的とし、 国際的に活躍されている専門家・開発者を招聘して、国内からの参加者と いっしょに合宿形式でプログラム開発やデータの標準化などを進めています。 通常の国際学会と異なるのは、研究発表の場ではなく、技術的な問題点に フォーカスして１週間の会期中に開発も行う実践的な会議である点です。 創発的な人的交流によりテーマの枠を超えた成果が出てくるのも魅力です。 本年度は下記の要領で BioHackathon を開催することとになりました。 国内からの参加受け付けを開始しましたのでよろしくお願いいたします。 生産性が高く楽しい会ですのでぜひ積極的にご参加頂ければと思います。 片山 BioHackathon 2012 の開催について -------------------------------- 第５回目の国際開発者会議 NBDC/DBCLS BioHackathon 2012 を富山にて ９月２日（日）～７日（金）の日程で開催することになりました。 海外からの招聘者リストや具体的なプログラムは、確定次第ウェブサイトの方に 掲載して行く予定です。 今回、研修施設が郊外にある関係上、参加希望のみなさまには相部屋での宿泊と 全日程を通してのご参加をお願いしております。受け入れ可能人数に限りがあるため 基本的に先着順としたいと思いますので、下記のページから早めの事前登録を お願い致します。現地までの交通と宿泊については各自実費でのご負担となります。 国内参加者用登録サイト： * http://2012.biohackathon.org/registration テーマ: * ライフサイエンスにおける Linked Open Data のアプリケーション 開催趣旨: 2011 年度の BioHackathon では，Linked Data を構築するための技術開発として， 既存データベースからの RDF 生成，オントロジー設計，トリプルストアに関する 技術開発とノウハウの蓄積を行なった．今後は、これらの技術を有効に利用した アプリケーションの開発が求められる．今年度は，国内で連携しているグループの データを統合的に扱えるドメイン特化のアプリケーション開発に対して，必要な 技術開発とデータの洗い出しを行う． BioHackathon 2012 ウェブサイト： * http://2012.biohackathon.org/ 日程: * 平成24年9月2日～7日 場所: * 9/2 富山国際会議場 大手町フォーラム * 9/3-7 INTEC大山研修センター 主催: * バイオサイエンスデータベースセンター (NBDC) * ライフサイエンス統合データベースセンター(DBCLS) CALL FOR PARTICIPANTS --------------------- The 5th NBDC/DBCLS BioHacakthon will be held in Toyama, Japan, Sep 2-7 2012. * The 5th NBDC/DBCLS BioHackathon http://2012.biohackathon.org/ Note that, we need to ask you to share a room with other participants during your stay due to the layout of the accommodation facility. Topics may cover the following domains, but are not limited to: * Standardization efforts of metadata and web services * Development of ontologies and web applications * Design of domain specific Linked Data (e.g. genome informatics) * Natural language processing to extract knowledge from literature * Triple stores and distributed SPARQL queries DATES & VENUE ------------- On the first day we will have a half-day symposium and the rest of the days will be spent for software development and discussions.
