SMTP client class is a PHP class that connects to a mail server to send messages. It can relay message delivery to a defined server or directly deliver messages to a recipient's server for urgent message delivery. It supports secure connections with SSL or starting TLS after the connection is established, connection timeouts, authentication using PHP SASL class (PLAIN, LOGIN, CRAM-MD5, NTLM), POP3 before SMTP delivery authentication, and takes advantage of the SMTP PIPELINING extension to buffer SMTP commands, providing much faster queueing of messages when delivering to a large number of recipients (bulk mail).

The Anti-Spam SMTP Proxy (ASSP) Server project
aims to create an open source platform independent
SMTP Proxy server which implements whitelists, Bayesian, and virus filtering to help stop unsolicited
commercial email (UCE). Anti-spam tools should be
adaptive to new spam and customized for each
site’s email patterns. This easy to use tool works
with any mail transport and achieves these goals
requiring no operator intervention after the
initial setup phase.

rblcheck is a simple tool for performing lookups in DNS-based IP address databases (such as the MAPS RBL), usually for the purposes of filtering email.

Isoqlog is an MTA log analysis program written in
C. It is designed to scan qmail, Postfix,
Sendmail, and Exim logfiles and produce usage
statistics in HTML for viewing through a browser.
It produces a "top domains" statistic according to
sender, receiver, total mails, and bytes, and
keeps the main domain mail statistics with regard
to day's top domain, and top users values for per
day, per month, and per year.

SpamProbe is a spam detection program that uses a
Bayesian analysis of the frequencies of terms used
in the email. Because it filters email based on
content rather than on general rules, it easily
adapts itself to the types of email that each
individual user normally receives.

AgileWiki is a composable platform for advanced
Web-based and P2P networks. It allows multiple
points of entry, where each node is an information
fusion system with controlled access, pluggable
applications, and native deductive reasoning.

qpsmtpd is a flexible smtpd daemon written in
Perl. Apart from the core SMTP features, all
functionality is implemented in small "extension
plugins" using the easy-to-use object oriented
plugin API. qpsmtpd was originally written as a
drop-in qmail-smtpd replacement, but now it also
includes an smtp forward and a postfix "backend".

QmailAdmin is a Web control panel for the administration of
qmail/vpopmail-based POP, IMAP, LDAP, or Web mail accounts, forwarding,
aliases, autoresponders, and mailing lists. It is perfect for ISPs, Web hosting
sites, or companies that want to provide a nice interface for managing email
accounts. It works with qmail, vpopmail, sqwebmail, and courier-imap.

mimetic is a MIME library written in C++ designed to be
easy to use and integrate but yet fast and efficient. It's
standard compliant using the Standard Template Library
for base C++ structures and supporting all relevant
messaging RFCs. A powerful template encoding/decoding
engine is also included to allow seamless extendibility
(i.e. encryption codecs) and intuitive codec chains
creation (using well-known Unix-style pipes syntax:
a|b|c). Real world examples, documentation, and
regression tests are included.
