multican is a Canon EOS class camera remote
control utility. It is able to remote control
400D, 300D, 350D, 30D, 20D, and 5D cameras and can
be scripted to control up to six attached cameras.

Axmjpeg retrieves JPEG images from an MJPEG over
HTTP stream that conforms to the "Axis Video API,
HTTP Interface Specification." Each captured JPEG
image may be written to a file or piped through to
a shell command for further processing. It also
supports time-based retrieval, where one image per
specified interval is captured.

This VideoJack client makes all devices supported by the unicap video
capture library available as video out connections for VideoJack.

gtivo is a Gtk/GNOME utility for displaying the TiVo "Now Showing"
listings. It can display show details and extract TiVo proprietary
tyStreams to Linux (and possibly other) hosts. It can convert
tyStreams to MPEG2 format.

TV in a box is an applet that adds a small TV to your dock or panel. It has most features that normal TV viewing applications have.

KScannerButtons is a daemon plus an optional KDE frontend for monitoring your scanner buttons so that actions can be taken in response to button presses. It's composed of a daemon (sanebuttond), a frontend that will display an icon in the systray, and a dialog box to configure and launch the daemon. It is based on the button monitoring capabilities found in some SANE backends. It has been tested with the avision backend and an HP 5300C scanner. The frontend requires Kommander (kde-webdev).

jpg-recover may be able to recover the images lost
when your digital camera's card gets corrupted. It
isn't 100% successful, but it can often recover
pictures that JPEG-unaware disk recovery tools
(like Norton Utilities) can't.

The GIMP Dimage color plugin allows GIMP users to
convert images produced by the Minolta DiMAGE 5/7
digital camera into sRGB colorspace. The camera
produces images in a wider gamut colorspace so
that pictures look "washed out" when viewed on a
monitor without a conversion.

KMediagrab is a media grabber and encoder built on
top of mplayer/mencoder. It can grab and encode
a DVD at the same time (e.g., creating a divx or a
videocd file for instance), record a movie or your
favourite TV program from your TV-card, or
translate a video file from one format to another
(e.g., create a realplayer file from a .wmv one).

CamManager is a program to manage HP Photosmart
digital camera memory cards. The program allows
users to easily access, list, and download images
or movies from their HP camera's memory card. The
program works well on Windows and Unix-like
systems.

The main goal of the Cognitive Vision project is
to improve the results of artificial intelligence.
The current scope is to equip the abilities of the
AIBO (robot dog of the Sony) to explore its
environment and to recognize the local position
(e.g. navigation in a room). The first trial is to
use and develop image processing methods with a
single webcam and to apply these techniques with
AIBO.

X Screen Grabber is a command line tool which
allows you to grab the contents of any X11 window
including root, with or without window manager
decorations, and with a time delay. It writes to
PNG, XPM, or TIFF using the respective libraries.

libiptcdata is a C library for manipulating the
International Press Telecommunications Council
(IPTC) metadata stored within multimedia files
such as images. This metadata can include captions
and keywords, often used by popular photo
management applications. The library provides
routines for parsing, viewing, modifying, and
saving this metadata. The libiptcdata package also
includes Python bindings and a command-line utility, iptc, for viewing and editing IPTC data in JPEG files.
